The Yongin Citizen Professional Football Club (Yongin FC), in collaboration with the Yongin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Lee Tae-yeol), announced that the "2025 Yongin FC and Workplace Futsal Tournament,"
was successfully concluded on November 1st at the Yongin Youth Training Center soccer field.
The opening ceremony was attended by key guests, including members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and the Yongin Special City Council, adding to the significance of the event.
The guests stated, "This tournament is a meaningful event, prepared in collaboration with the Yongin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, based on the citizens' passion for sports. It was created with the aim of fostering a healthy culture where Yongin companies can support each other and grow together with the local community through soccer. The sight of workers united and working hard will greatly invigorate the local community."
Additionally, local businesses, including Dongsung Foods (CEO Lee Yong-taek), Wonsam Agricultural Cooperative (Chairman Oh Tae-hwan), and Taejong FD (CEO Gu Seong-hoe), provided voluntary support. This further fueled the passion of the participating players and the on-site atmosphere,
and added to the significance of this citizen-centered, co-prosperous festival where the local economy and sports flourish together.
Participants expressed positive responses, saying, "We are very pleased that this workplace competition is being held with the establishment of a professional soccer team in Yongin," "We are so grateful for the professional referees and the excellent preparation of the field, which exceeded our expectations,"
and "We hope this type of competition continues."
Fifteen corporate teams from Yongin participated in this competition, engaging in fierce competition. The teams were divided into four groups and played in a group stage. The top eight teams from each group advanced to the finals, where they competed in a tournament format.
The perseverance, teamwork, and fighting spirit of the office workers were evident throughout the competition.
Families and colleagues of the participating players joined in the cheering, and cheers and applause filled the stadium for each game. After a fiercely contested day, ◀IGIS Sports Management (CEO Lee Isaac)
won the championship with outstanding teamwork and focus. ◀Hana Technology (CEO Oh Tae-bong) placed second with tenacious play. ◀Yongin University (President Han Jin-soo) placed third with stable game management.
◀Yongin Urban Development Corporation (2) (CEO Shin Kyung-chul) won the "Fair Play Team Award" for exemplary teamwork and courteous play. In the individual awards category,
◀IGIS Sports Management's Moon Geon-ho won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, and ◀Hana Technology's Kang Jeong-ho won the "Best Goalkeeper Award."
Yongin FC CEO Choi Hee-hak said, "We have demonstrated the passionate unity of office workers through sports."
"We will continue to promote events in which citizens and businesses can participate, solidifying our position as a 'club that works with the citizens.'"
He added, "I hope this tournament will serve as an opportunity for citizens and businesses to share the meaning of Yongin FC's founding." He added, "The interest and support of local businesses will lay the foundation for the club's growth and the spread of local sports culture."
Meanwhile, Yongin FC will host the 'Mir Queen Cup Women's Futsal Tournament' at Giheung Lespia on November 15th. With the goal of expanding the base of football, Yongin FC plans to continue offering diverse programs for citizens to enjoy together.
